No angst here, just  food, fun, and fellowship for rising middle school students through high school students.  From movies to mission projects, Bible study to board games, and a new Youth Choir, this group knows how to connect at church and offline. Youth in grades 6 through 12 are always welcome!

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
— Philippians 4:6-7 (NRSV)

sunday school

First we eat breakfast-like food, then we relax on our comfy futons. We talk about how God is working in our lives by studying life stories and the Bible together, and we pray with each other.  Middle school and high school meet in separate groups. Come to the Youth Suite this Sunday! See what other Sunday School classes we offer for the rest of your family.

Youth Group meets on Sunday nights for dinner, discussion and relaxing. It’s a special time to reconnect before the week starts up again. We explore trends and social issues, play Ding Dong Hockey, eat Gutter Ice Cream, compete in Watermelon Olympics, play sardines, cook millions of pancakes for the a pancake brunch to help us go on mission trips, energize the congregation with a food drive to fill food pantries, go schlitter at the “Bahn”, have a Christmas candy bar swap, and always, end with prayer and "candle time” together.

youth and music

The Youth Choir is open to high school and middle school students in the community who love to sing and want to make a joyful noise. Practice is on Sunday evenings just before Youth Group starts. There’s more than one way to raise your voice, see what other music programs are available.

Youth Retreats

FPCA Youth love retreats!  It is a chance to put homework and cell phones aside to connect with each other and God, and deepen those relationships. We go to John Knox Ranch, Jr. High Jubilee and Sr. High Celebration at Mo Ranch, the Mid-Winter Retreat, the Mo-TLC (Teen Leadership Conference), and a Confirmation Retreat for 8th and 9th graders.

Youth and Mission

Youth are busy with mission events like working at the Diaper Bank, collecting for the Souper Bowl of Caring, or working at the Manos de Cristo Back-to-School event throughout the year, but a mission trip each summer is the highlight of the Youth calendar.
