Ash Wednesday: The Good News Is… All Are Invited
Wednesday, February 18
5:30 pm | Simple Soup Supper – Conference Room
7:00 pm | Ash Wednesday Worship Service – Sanctuary & Livestream
The season of Lent begins with an honest and hopeful invitation: to pause, reflect, and remember that we do not walk this journey alone. Ash Wednesday offers space to acknowledge human fragility while trusting in God’s grace, mercy, and renewing love.
At First Presbyterian Church of Austin, all are welcome—no matter where you are on your faith journey.
Begin Lent Together
Start the evening with a simple soup supper at 5:30 pm in the Conference Room. This shared meal is an opportunity to slow down, connect with others, and enter the Lenten season in a spirit of humility and community.
Whether you come on your own or with family and friends, you are invited to take a seat at the table.
Ash Wednesday Worship Service
At 7:00 pm, join us in the Sanctuary or online for a moving Ash Wednesday worship service that includes:
Scripture and reflection
Hymns and prayerful music
Holy Communion
Imposition of ashes, a powerful sign of repentance, hope, and new life
The service is contemplative and accessible, offering space for quiet reflection as we begin the Lenten journey together.
All Are Welcome
You do not need to be a member—or even sure what you believe—to attend. If you are curious, weary, hopeful, or searching, there is room for you here. The good news of Ash Wednesday is not about perfection, but about grace.
