Living the Questions

On Sunday evenings, join these lecture sessions at 5:30pm. By the miracle of digital technology, we will view lectures by authors, preachers, and scholars such as Rob Bell, Marcus Borg, John Ortberg, and others. This fall we are beginning with a video series by Old Testament Scholar, Walter Brueggemann, entitled, “Countering Pharaoh’s Production-Consumption Society.” The lectures are open to the public and the curious are encouraged to stop in.  A time for discussion will follow each lecture. Walk to Emmaus and Cursillo Group

Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem. They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; but they were kept from recognizing him. (Luke 24) Many Christians have gone on a walk to Emmaus, and have found it a deeply moving, enriching experience that transforms their faith.  Many others have gone on a Cursillo encounter and emerged with a better understanding of God's call for them and a stronger commitment to living out their faith.  Those in our congregation who have completed a walk to Emmaus or a Cursillo encounter meet on Wednesday mornings at 7:30am to keep the spirit of those experiences alive and to encourage one another in their faith journeys. Sheffield Hall, Joanna Room
